Role Overview
As an Escrow Officer, you will be responsible for managing real estate transactions by establishing new escrow accounts, overseeing funds, processing closing documents, and finalizing settlements in line with established policies and procedures. You will serve as a neutral intermediary among involved parties, ensuring compliance with company policies while effectively managing and mitigating risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate real estate escrow transactions by identifying requirements; clearing titles; preparing, assembling, and reviewing closing documents; and disbursing funds.
  • Assess closing requirements by analyzing and clarifying instructions from buyers, sellers, and lenders.
  • Request title reports for issuing title insurance, resolving title defects, and addressing existing liens and encumbrances.
  • Establish escrow accounts by depositing funds and maintaining accurate records.
  • Prepare transaction documents by completing necessary forms and statements, and reviewing existing documentation.
  • Perform calculations by prorating taxes and interest.
  • Finalize closing transaction documents by assembling required papers; reviewing them with involved parties; explaining provisions and procedures; addressing inquiries; ensuring completeness and accuracy; and obtaining necessary signatures.
  • Conclude closings by recording and filing documents; preparing and distributing final closing statements and title; and preparing settlement statements based on lender instructions.
  • Close escrow accounts by balancing and disbursing funds.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies by adhering to and enforcing these standards.
  • Enhance job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities; reading professional literature; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the escrow and title industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong client relations and organizational skills.
  • Ability to compose reports and correspondence effectively.
  • Effective verbal communication skills for addressing groups of customers or employees.
  • Competence in performing calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Detail-oriented and professional, with the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Adept at interacting with various stakeholders, including real estate sellers, buyers, agents, and brokers.
Typical Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience Requirements
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience directly managing escrow transactions as an escrow assistant is preferred.
Licensing/Certification
  • Valid licensing/certification as mandated by applicable state regulations.
Compensation
Pay Range: $38.13 Hourly

This range represents a reasonable estimate of the base pay for this position at the time of posting. Compensation is influenced by various factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
