Role Overview
As an Escrow Officer, you will be responsible for managing real estate transactions by establishing new escrow accounts, overseeing funds, processing closing documents, and finalizing settlements in accordance with established protocols. You will serve as a neutral intermediary among involved parties, ensuring compliance with company policies while monitoring and mitigating risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate real estate escrow transactions by identifying requirements; clearing titles; assembling, preparing, and reviewing closing documents; and disbursing funds.
  • Clarify closing requirements by analyzing buyer, seller, and lender instructions.
  • Request title reports for issuing title insurance, addressing title defects, and resolving existing liens and encumbrances.
  • Establish escrow accounts by managing fund deposits and maintaining accurate records.
  • Prepare transaction documents by completing necessary forms and statements; collecting and reviewing existing documentation.
  • Perform calculations related to prorating taxes and interest.
  • Finalize closing transaction documents by compiling necessary paperwork; reviewing documents with parties; explaining provisions and procedures; addressing inquiries; and ensuring completeness and accuracy of signatures.
  • Conclude closings by recording and filing documents; preparing and distributing final closing statements and title documentation.
  • Close escrow accounts by balancing and disbursing funds.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies by enforcing adherence to established protocols.
  • Enhance job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities; reading industry publications; maintaining professional networks; and participating in relevant organizations.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the escrow and title industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong client relations and organizational abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Detail-oriented and professional, capable of handling confidential information.
  • Adept at interacting with various stakeholders, including real estate sellers, buyers, agents, and brokers.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience Range
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in handling escrow transactions as an escrow assistant is preferred.
Licensing and Certification
  • Valid licensing or certification as required by applicable state regulations.
Compensation
Pay Range: $38.13 Hourly

This compensation range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay for this position at the time of posting. Pay is determined by various factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
