Position: Paralegal - Labor & Employment
Location: Hybrid
Compensation: $95,000 - $115,000 annually
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Preparation: Support attorneys in the preparation for hearings, trials, and depositions by collecting and organizing evidence, creating exhibits, and drafting legal documents.
- Legal Research: Perform comprehensive legal research on labor and employment law topics, including case law, statutes, and regulations to inform case strategies.
- Document Management: Draft, review, and edit legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
- Client Communication: Engage with clients to gather pertinent information, provide updates on case status, and assist in scheduling meetings and interviews.
- File Organization: Maintain and systematically organize case files, both electronic and paper, ensuring proper filing and storage of all documents.
- Administrative Support: Assist with various administrative tasks, including calendaring, coordinating meetings, and managing attorney schedules.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related discipline. Paralegal certification from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a paralegal, particularly in labor and employment law.
- Skills: Strong grasp of labor and employment law, exceptional research and writing abilities, and proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and case management software.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
