About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Director to join our team at BrightSpring Health Services. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and revenue in our assigned area or territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive growth and revenue in assigned area or territory
  • Lead a team of account managers and work closely with the RVP of Business Development to develop and execute business development strategies
  • Support the negotiation and closing of new business deals, manage client relationships, and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Monitor and maintain data on market area, including competitors and marketing strategies, and work with the RVP of Business Development to develop a comprehensive marketing plan
  • Manage and direct the area business development team in planning in-services, presentations, and addressing issues with referral sources
  • Initiate and coordinate contract negotiations with agencies, funding sources, facilities, insurance companies, and managed care organizations
  • Support and promote company philosophy to referral sources in the community
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive working knowledge of organization's markets, including key referral sources, competitors, governmental agencies, and major payer groups, and apply this knowledge to effective sales planning and positive public relations
  • Monitor current industry and marketplace changes and opportunities for competitive advantage
  • Participate and contribute to the annual budgeting process for the Home Health Division for the respective area of responsibility
  • Hold leaders (business development) and teams accountable for the achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and business / clinical quality goals
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, coaching, and development to direct reports
  • Responsible for reporting on plans and achievement of business, admission, and clinical / quality goals to division President and Company CEO
  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of direct reports
  • Monitor turnover in the area of responsibility
  • Ensure proper hiring, training, and development of newly hired staff
  • Work closely with support departments to achieve routine collaboration with payer contracting to negotiate the strongest contracts
  • Monitor metrics proactively to effect change in a positive direction before month end
  • Collaborate with business partners and use appropriate resources to accurately forecast monthly admissions/growth
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
  • Ten years of experience in hospice and/or home health business development
  • Proven success in the development and execution of strategic marketing plans
  • Experience in strategic planning and collaboration with executive, sales, product development, and key operational groups
  • A deep and broad professional network that aligns to our target client base preferred
  • Demonstrated track record in building new book of business, client relationship management, and evidence of closing and growing accounts preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work with remote teams with units in multiple locations
  • Relationship building skills
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking and sales skills
