Job Title: Clinical Psychologist Sports Medicine Washington State University

Washington State University's Sports Medicine department is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join their team. As a key member of the department, you will be responsible for providing psychological evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, referrals, crisis intervention, and promoting mental health for WSU student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and treat student-athletes with mental health concerns.
  • Provide crisis intervention and supervise other behavioral health clinicians.
  • Coordinate care with healthcare teams, including physicians, trainers, and dietitians.
  • Facilitate access to additional healthcare resources on and off-campus.
  • Provide guidance and harm reduction strategies to student-athletes.
  • Serve as the primary mental health provider and chair the Athletic Department's Mental Health Team.
Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in Psychology (including pre-doctoral internship).
  • Doctorate in clinical psychology.
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Washington State within one year.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience counseling student-athletes.
Preferred Experience:
  • Counseling on healthy relationships, substance use, and life balance.
  • Crisis intervention and working with a diverse student population.
  • Broad working knowledge of NCAA, conference, university and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
