Job Summary:

This position is responsible for receiving, logging, reviewing, and processing records responsive to public records requests. The incumbent will determine the permissible scope of disclosure under state law, redact and withhold records when required or permitted by law, create correspondence, and maintain accurate records and files. The program specialist will utilize an online portal to collect records from record holders system-wide and to release them to requesters.

Key Responsibilities:

* Receive, log, review, and process records responsive to public records requests
* Determine the permissible scope of disclosure under state law
* Redact and withhold records when required or permitted by law
* Create correspondence and maintain accurate records and files
* Utilize an online portal to collect records from record holders system-wide and to release them to requesters

Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience
* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
* Demonstrated skill in organization and attention to detail
* Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
* Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with internal and external constituents
* Demonstrated experience meeting deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working as an administrative or legal assistant performing duties as referenced in the summary of duties above
