Job Summary:

This position oversees the development, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive strategic marketing and promotions plan for all home athletic events targeting a variety of diverse audiences.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field and three (3) years of professional level experience in marketing, promotional or related work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing and promotions plans for all home athletic events.
  • Oversee the marketing and game production for the men's basketball program and serve as the number 2 on football.
  • Work in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Experience to help hire, train, and supervise the marketing department's student internship program.
  • Manage and supervise a team of marketing professionals.
  • Develop and manage budgets for marketing and promotions initiatives.
  • Initiate and complete projects independently and with specific deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field.
  • Three (3) years of professional level experience in marketing, promotional or related work.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends on a regular basis.
  • Valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in marketing, public relations, communications, sports management or other related field.
  • Demonstrated successful marketing and promotion experience in athletics.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and management of budgets.
  • Demonstrated work experience in sponsorship sales and contract fulfillments.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in management and supervision of internship or student programs.
