We are seeking a seasoned, digitally proficient, transformational executive to lead our Client Experience division within the Individual Investors sector. The Director of Advice & Investing Experience will assume a pivotal leadership position, tasked with defining the strategy, establishing priorities, and spearheading the necessary changes to develop top-tier investment solutions and experiences for our clientele. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of managing extensive digital transformation initiatives in the financial services arena, a record of crafting digital products and experiences, a strong foundation in personal finance and investment, and significant experience in guiding cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.

The Individual Investors division is dedicated to assisting investors in achieving their financial aspirations through exceptional client experiences. As we initiate the digital transformation essential for realizing this vision, we are expanding our leadership team within the Client Experience group. This team drives innovation and transformation primarily through our B2C digital products and platforms, collaborating closely with engineering, design, and other stakeholders across the organization to maximize impact and achieve both client and business objectives. This position will report to the Head of Client Experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulates and directs the self-service strategy for the organization by incorporating feedback from clients, associates, and other stakeholders. Translates the strategy into immediate and long-term goals, oversees execution, market dynamics, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Collaborates closely with leadership across various business units and disciplines to ensure that the appropriate strategy and capabilities are established to fulfill the agreed business initiatives and requirements. Suggests modifications to meet evolving needs that optimize benefits, costs, speed, and quality of delivery.
  • Leads a high-performing organization of 3-5 agile development teams by providing leadership, coaching, development, and support. Where applicable, manages vendor relationships for prioritization, planning, and execution of initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Success will generally be assessed by delivering products and experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and assist clients in achieving improved investment outcomes. This role is accountable for the quality, resilience, and performance of all developed solutions.
  • Drives initiatives from conception to execution to enhance team productivity, quality, and velocity to achieve intended objectives. Promotes and enhances best practice product delivery frameworks to enable capabilities and improvements within scope, schedule, and budget commitments.
  • Maintains current knowledge of a wide array of emerging technology trends and identifies opportunities where technology can be leveraged to deliver business enhancements and competitive advantages.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
  • 12+ years of total relevant work experience and 5+ years of management experience
Preferred:
  • 10+ years of experience in application/software development and delivery in the field of asset management, investment services, and/or financial advisory services.
  • MBA or other industry-recognized accreditation (CFP, CIMA, CPA)
  • CSPO, CSM, SAFe certified
  • Established industry network
  • Demonstrated history of leading complex digital transformation programs.
  • Strong understanding of technology infrastructures, digital ecosystems, and platforms
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to various organizational levels internally and externally as required.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; capacity to think strategically.
  • Experience in developing complex business cases.
  • History of collaborating with vendor partners and consultancies in the development and execution of business strategies.

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for full-time remote work.

Regional Requirements:

Base salary range:

$170,000 USD for the locations of: Colorado and the State of Washington

$212,500 - $350,000 USD for the locations of: California and New York

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual's relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
