Position Overview

As a Sales Representative in the Washington, D.C. Area, you will play a crucial role in our mission to enhance scientific research and community health. We are a rapidly expanding team that values collaboration and open communication, fostering a supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and cultivate strong relationships with customers within your designated territory.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve annual sales and gross margin objectives.
  • Oversee pricing strategies to meet financial goals.
  • Make independent decisions while utilizing available resources to meet customer needs, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Stay informed about competitor activities and industry trends, integrating relevant insights into your business strategy.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports for effective territory management.
  • Address customer concerns and report potential issues, completing additional tasks as assigned.
  • Provide customers with insights on supply and pricing trends to assist in inventory management.
  • Represent Genesee Scientific positively in all customer interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience, with a minimum of two years in sales or laboratory research.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering impactful sales and marketing communications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams, with experience in CRM systems such as Salesforce or Sage preferred.
  • Results-driven with a strong work ethic, capable of thriving in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
  • This role primarily operates from a home office, requiring frequent travel to customer locations.
  • Minimal physical exertion is required, involving light lifting and general mobility.
