Position: Sales Representative - Washington, D.C. Area
Reporting To: Regional Sales Leader
Employment Status: Exempt
Location: Washington, D.C. Area
Key Responsibilities:
- Take charge of your designated territory, cultivating and maintaining robust customer relationships.
- Formulate and implement strategies to achieve annual sales and gross margin objectives.
- Oversee pricing strategies within your territory to meet financial goals.
- Make independent decisions while utilizing available resources to meet customer needs, ensuring effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Stay informed about competitor activities and industry trends, integrating relevant insights into your business strategies.
- Maintain precise records and reports essential for effective territory management.
- Address customer concerns and potential issues, while completing additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Provide customers with insights on supply and pricing trends, assisting in inventory management and offering consultative support.
- Represent Genesee Scientific positively in all customer interactions.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of two years in sales or laboratory research.
- A proven history of effectively delivering sales and marketing information that influences customer decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Preferred skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams, along with experience in Salesforce, Sage, or other CRM platforms.
- A results-oriented mindset, strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong time management abilities and the capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- This role primarily operates from a home office with frequent travel to customer locations; overnight travel may be required.
- Minimal physical exertion is needed, involving tasks such as walking, standing, bending, reaching, and occasionally lifting objects weighing less than 10 lbs.
