About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Specialist to join our team at APTIM. As an Environmental Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our Environmental Engineering and Remediation Division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing, writing, and editing various technical reports and documents, including project subcontractor scopes of work, work plans, technical memorandums, and project completion reports.
  • Provide technical and engineering information to ensure field work complies with all engineering standards, codes, and contract specifications.
  • Collect, coordinate, and analyze shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements, and project data to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.
  • Track and evaluate daily production to accurately track project performance using company-approved methods and technologies.
  • Review project specifications for quality assurance at the beginning of work, during the project work, and after work completes.
  • Perform construction inspection duties in coordination with inspection staff.
  • Prepare and read plans, respond to subcontractor and vendor questions, and review specifications.
  • Assist in analyzing problems and recommend solutions to problems.
  • Initiate and manage permits needed before work can begin.
  • Attend daily safety meetings with field team and project leadership; present field analysis as needed.
  • Engage in the Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) to ensure a safe and compliance work environment for all field personnel.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in a relevant field, such as Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other related field of study.
  • 0-1 years of experience in a related field.
  • Beginner knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawing and specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to the project.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superb problem-solving skills using logic and data.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
