About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Specialist to join our team. As a Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for growing and maintaining a customer base of equine animal nutrition sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grow current book of business through relationship-building and business skills
  • Work with aligned cooperatives and dealers to develop and execute sales growth strategies
  • Develop strong relationships with customers and dealers to position Purina feed programs and technologies
  • Regularly meet with dealer and sales staff to update, train, and review results
  • Collaborate with account quarterback on equine feed growth plans
  • Utilize all resources available to create success in assigned markets
  • Maintain a top 20 prospect list of accounts in coordination with dealers and cooperatives
  • Plan, lead, and execute on Equine Education Events to sell new customers
  • Build solid business-to-business relationships with equine veterinarians and influential horse trainers
  • Conduct feeding trials and collect proof data to utilize in selling other prospects
  • Utilize SalesForce to log all sales activities and submit weekly reports
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related agriculture field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 2 years applicable experience in animal science/nutrition sales or high-level experience in the performance horse industry
  • Solid understanding of Equine current management practices and nutritional guidelines
  • General business acumen
  • Up to 20% overnight travel
  • Basic command of animal nutrition and Equine management recommendations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, focus, and strong organization and time management skills
