Position Overview

Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center (SCHHC) is a Critical Access Hospital dedicated to providing quality healthcare with a personal touch. We are currently seeking a skilled Medicare Billing Specialist III to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurate and timely preparation and submission of Medicare claims.
  • Utilization of Direct Data Entry (DDE) for billing processes.
  • Thorough review of claims to ensure compliance with payer-specific billing requirements.
  • Follow-up on billing inquiries and necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, while potentially overseeing the work of other billing clerks.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • A medical background is essential.
  • Experience with the EPIC system is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in Medicare billing is required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing outstanding service.
  • Ability to uphold strict confidentiality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in oral and written communication, as well as computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and online software.
