Position Overview

This role is a flexible, as-needed position with a maximum of 20 hours per week.

Role Summary

The Retail Pharmacist is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of essential records related to prescriptions, patient billing, and inventory management. This position provides education and guidance to patients, families, healthcare team members, and prescribers regarding medications and pharmaceutical products. Under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy Services, the Retail Pharmacist will act as the Pharmacist-in-charge, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations, overseeing pharmacy operations, and providing leadership to professional staff, technicians, and support personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dispense medications to patients based on prescriptions from authorized medical and dental professionals.
  • Guarantee the safe and effective distribution of medications, ensuring that no misbranded, outdated, or improperly stored drugs are dispensed.
  • Maintain precise electronic health records for patients and ensure timely documentation.
Qualifications & Skills

Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with a customer-focused approach and the ability to engage with a diverse patient demographic professionally. Candidates should be detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and able to work independently while making informed pharmacy-related decisions in collaboration with team members. Organizational skills and analytical problem-solving abilities are crucial. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly electronic medical records systems and MS Office, is required. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
