Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatrist to provide essential mental health services to adults enrolled in our Mental Health Services program. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals facing significant challenges, fostering hope and well-being within our community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and manage medication regimens for enrolled consumers, ensuring their safety and optimal mental health.
- Deliver psychiatric services to individuals participating in both intensive treatment and outpatient programs, tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs.
- Collaborate closely with crisis services and the Medical Services Manager to oversee the holistic care of our consumers, coordinating efforts for a comprehensive and integrated approach.
- Evaluate individuals for psychotropic medication when necessary, prescribing, monitoring, and assessing the effects of prescribed medications to achieve positive outcomes.
- Educate consumers about the benefits and potential risks associated with their medications, empowering them to actively participate in their treatment plan.
- Order and review essential laboratory tests to support both medical and psychiatric care, ensuring a well-rounded approach to patient well-being.
Facilitate Care Coordination
- Consult with Catholic Charities clinical staff as required, providing expert guidance and support in the delivery of mental health services.
- Coordinate effectively with external physicians to ensure seamless medical management for our clients, fostering a collaborative care environment.
- Ensure the accuracy of psychiatric diagnoses conducted by Mental Health staff, upholding high standards of clinical practice.
- Contribute your expertise in treatment and discharge planning, guiding our team towards optimal patient outcomes.
- Supervise treatment and discharge planning quality, ensuring adherence to best practices and promoting continuous improvement.
- Offer valuable education to staff on diagnoses, treatment planning, and medication usage, fostering a culture of learning and professional development.
Adherence to Agency Standards
- Follow program and office procedures for effective management, contributing to a well-organized and efficient work environment.
- Comply with agency infection control policies, prioritizing the health and safety of our staff and clients.
- Document services meticulously to meet established standards and guidelines, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records.
