Position Overview:

The Linen Processing Associate is responsible for the effective sorting, washing, and drying of linens while adhering to strict infection control protocols.

Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sorts, segregates, and weighs soiled linens for processing.
  2. Operates washer-extractors, selecting appropriate wash cycles and formulas.
  3. Transfers clean linens to drying and folding areas.
  4. Loads dryers with clean linens, ensuring proper settings are used.
  5. Handles the unloading of dryers and prepares linens for pressing and folding.
  6. Records weights of soiled linens in the washman logs.
  7. Moves processed linens to designated storage areas for delivery.
  8. Monitors the operation of washer-extractors and laundry chemical dispensers.
  9. Maintains cleanliness of lint traps and trough screens.
  10. Assists in training new team members.
  11. Completes daily cleaning tasks as assigned.
  12. Follows established Standards of Behavior and Code of Conduct.

Qualifications:

  • High-school Diploma or equivalent is required.

Physical and Sensory Demands:

  • Involves walking, standing, and various lifting/carrying tasks.
  • Requires bending, stooping, and twisting motions.
  • May involve repetitive movements and climbing as necessary.

Working Conditions:

  • Indoor and outdoor work environments with exposure to varying temperatures and potential hazards.
  • Collaborative work with others, as well as occasional independent tasks.
  • Varied hours and potential for overtime.
