Job Summary

The Production Supervisor - Manufacturing Lead will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to establish, optimize, and meet production goals within budget and scope. This role will direct and supervise a team in collaboration with the Production Manager, requiring both tactical and strategic thinking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Labor Planning and Scheduling: Determine labor needs and create schedules based on production requirements, ensuring adequate staffing and minimizing overtime.
  • Team Development and Engagement: Foster a culture of engagement and growth through regular performance reviews, 1:1 meetings, structured feedback, and employee development plans.
  • Performance Management: Provide effective and professional feedback on performance, both formally and informally, and collaborate with HR to create and deliver performance/discipline documents.
  • Initiative Champion: Participate in and support initiatives such as succession planning, career pathing, and diversity and inclusion efforts.
  • Workforce Management: Collaborate with leadership to create, prioritize, and sustain a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Employee Development and Training: Participate in the hiring and advancement of employees, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Employee Relations: May participate in employee disciplinary actions in conjunction with Management and HR.
  • Health and Safety: Champion, train, and enforce a healthy work culture, including safety, environmental, teamwork, discipline, work processes, and housekeeping.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze and improve production processes, track production targets, and support engineering and other projects to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Track and report on throughput, efficiency, cost, and on-time delivery, developing and communicating improvement action plans.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with engineering, safety, and other stakeholders to evaluate, document, and communicate new equipment procedures and requirements.
  • Supply Chain and Maintenance: Work with supply chain, maintenance, and leadership to forecast and troubleshoot material/equipment issues.
  • Reporting and Communication: Analyze, maintain, compile, and provide various reports and communications to ensure meeting of organizational goals.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field or 7+ years of direct experience leading others in a similar role and environment.
  • Manufacturing Experience: 3+ years of experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Leadership Experience: 3+ years of experience successfully and formally leading a team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Training and Development: 3+ years of experience training others.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving: Ability to lead others effectively and respectfully, creating a positive and healthy workplace, and possessing superior problem-solving skills around multiple variables that affect production and people.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook, and able to communicate effectively and professionally in both verbal and written formats across the organization.
