About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Services Supervisor to join our team at the University of Michigan. As a key member of our Facilities and Operations department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of construction projects across our campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate project feasibility by conducting thorough cost, scheduling, and feasibility studies.
  • Oversee the work of skilled trades employees, leading and scheduling their work for multiple projects.
  • Promote and reinforce safety protocols on all projects, ensuring staff compliance with personal protective equipment.
  • Procure materials, supplies, and tools, and ensure timely delivery to multiple projects.
  • Attend meetings with customers to develop work scope and report on project progress.
  • Direct project budget analysis, scheduling, and feasibility studies.
  • Prepare estimates for labor and material needs for project scope.
  • Perform project hazard assessments and regular site safety inspections.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
  • Five years of experience in construction, with the ability to oversee skilled trades employees.
  • Ability to maintain organized records, complex spreadsheets, and compose reports.
  • Knowledge of CMMS software, financial accounting software, Microsoft Office products, and Google products.
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents related to architectural and engineering scope.
  • Experience in managing laboratory construction and estimating.
  • Ability to identify and solve issues proactively.
