Position Summary:

The Logistics Sales Specialist plays a crucial role in identifying and securing new business opportunities within the transportation and logistics industry. This position focuses on nurturing client relationships and achieving sales objectives. The role encompasses proactive sales initiatives, crafting and presenting tailored solutions to clients, and collaborating with internal departments to ensure top-notch service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Prospect Identification: Research and target potential clients in the logistics sector through strategic networking and market analysis.
  • Lead Generation: Generate new leads via cold outreach, email marketing, and participation in industry events.
  • Client Acquisition: Formulate and implement strategies to attract new clients, offering customized transportation solutions to address their unique requirements.

Sales and Relationship Management:

  • Sales Presentations: Deliver engaging sales presentations and product demonstrations, effectively showcasing the benefits of the company's logistics services.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and finalize sales agreements with clients, ensuring mutually advantageous outcomes.
  • Account Management: Establish and maintain robust, long-lasting relationships with clients, acting as their primary contact for logistics services.

Client Consultation and Solution Development:

  • Needs Assessment: Engage with clients to comprehend their logistics challenges and requirements.
  • Solution Development: Design and propose tailored logistics solutions that align with client expectations and company capabilities.
  • Service Optimization: Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to ensure effective implementation and enhancement of logistics solutions.

Sales Planning and Reporting:

  • Sales Strategy: Create and execute sales strategies and plans aimed at achieving or surpassing sales goals.
  • Sales Forecasting: Generate sales forecasts and reports, monitoring progress and pinpointing areas for enhancement.
  • Market Analysis: Keep abreast of market trends and competitor activities to uncover opportunities and challenges.

Customer Service and Issue Resolution:

  • Client Support: Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and resolving issues related to logistics services.
  • Issue Management: Manage and resolve service-related issues or complaints promptly and professionally.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including operations, logistics, and customer service, to ensure seamless execution of logistics solutions.
  • Team Contribution: Contribute to team objectives and initiatives, sharing insights and best practices to bolster overall sales success.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Record Maintenance: Keep accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and contract details.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure all sales activities and client contracts adhere to company policies and industry regulations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in sales, ideally within the logistics or transportation sector.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and developing new business.

Skills:

  • Sales Acumen: Strong sales capabilities with the ability to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and close deals.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Negotiation: Proficient negotiation skills, able to secure favorable terms and finalize contracts.
  • Customer Focus: High level of customer service orientation, committed to understanding and fulfilling client needs.
  • Technical: Proficient in CRM software and other sales tools. Familiarity with logistics and freight management systems is advantageous.

Working Conditions:

  • Hours: Full-time position, Monday through Friday.
