Role Summary:

We are in search of a proficient Tax Compliance Specialist to enhance our finance team, taking a pivotal role in overseeing tax compliance and strategic initiatives within the construction sector. The Tax Compliance Specialist will be tasked with ensuring the precise and timely preparation of tax filings, scrutinizing tax regulations, and executing strategies aimed at maximizing tax efficiency. This role presents an exciting opportunity to influence the financial success of our organization while collaborating with a talented group of professionals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assess federal, state, and local tax returns for the organization, encompassing corporate income tax, sales and use tax, property tax, and payroll tax submissions.
  • Conduct thorough research on tax legislation and regulations pertinent to the construction industry, offering insights and recommendations to management regarding tax planning strategies.
  • Work in conjunction with internal departments to collect essential financial data and documentation necessary for tax compliance and reporting.
  • Support tax audits and inquiries from governmental bodies, including responding to information requests and assisting during examinations.
  • Stay informed on changes in tax legislation and advise management on potential implications for the company's tax posture and overall financial operations.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies to ensure adherence to tax obligations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in tax accounting, ideally within the construction industry or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar applications) and strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities with the capacity to interpret complex financial information and convey findings effectively.
  • A meticulous approach with a commitment to precision and thoroughness in all responsibilities.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, effectively prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
