Position Summary:

The Superintendent plays a crucial role in overseeing and directing all facets of assigned construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring effective client communication and budget management. This position serves as the primary liaison between Haggerty, our clients, and subcontractors/vendors. Key responsibilities include:

Accountabilities:Quality Assurance and Oversight:
  • Guaranteeing that all construction activities meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Facilitating project mobilization, including necessary signage and branding.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers to address any discrepancies in plans or specifications.
  • Thoroughly understanding project plans to ensure comprehensive scope coverage.
  • Ensuring proper demobilization of equipment and trades, leaving the site clean and organized.
  • Timely generation and completion of the project punch list.
Safety Management:
  • Submitting Incident Reports to the Safety Manager and HR within 24 hours of any injury.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with company safety policies.
  • Conducting weekly safety meetings and documenting attendance.
  • Managing and replenishing Emergency Medical Kits.
  • Completing Monthly Vehicle Inspections and maintaining documentation.
  • Achieving OSHA 10 certification.
  • Holding weekly meetings with subcontractor foremen to discuss project specifics.
Reporting Responsibilities:
  • Providing accurate Daily Reports, including photographs, by the end of each week.
  • Documenting and communicating change orders to the Project Manager.
  • Submitting Requests for Information (RFIs) promptly.
  • Maintaining As-Built Drawings to reflect all changes and corrections.
  • Tracking and securing company-owned tools consistently.
  • Regularly updating the Project Manager on job progress.
  • Ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of company vehicles.
Scheduling Duties:
  • Utilizing a 5 Week Look Ahead Schedule to manage and communicate project timelines.
  • Coordinating inspections with relevant authorities and agencies.
  • Submitting manpower requests to the Production Manager in advance.
Key Responsibilities:Support and Communication:
  • Assisting Project Managers in developing construction schedules.
  • Coordinating trades and daily material deliveries.
  • Managing project-specific self-perform work with the Production Manager.
  • Participating in project kickoff and closeout meetings.
  • Maintaining comprehensive project knowledge.
  • Ensuring a clean working environment.
  • Documenting project progress through daily photographs.
  • Communicating effectively with clients as needed.
Safety Leadership:
  • Conducting safety training and meetings for subcontractors.
  • Managing safety compliance and documentation.
  • Responding to incidents per company protocols.
  • Maintaining required safety literature.
  • Implementing Emergency Action Plan procedures.
Decision-Making Authority:
  • Removing non-compliant trades from the jobsite.
  • Scheduling necessary inspections.
  • Making in-field adjustments to maintain project timelines.
  • Documenting change orders as needed.
Reporting Structure:
  • The Superintendent reports directly to the General Superintendent.
Essential Skills:
  • Advanced plan interpretation skills.
  • Strong leadership and motivational abilities.
  • Proactive problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Physical capability to handle job site demands.
  • Excellent communication skills.
General Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of supervisory experience in construction.
  • Knowledge of various trades and specifications.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • OSHA 10-hour training certification.
  • OSHA 30-hour training certification preferred.
