Department Overview:
Gas Operations is dedicated to ensuring the secure and dependable delivery of natural gas to our clientele. This department encompasses all facets of gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance, construction, restoration, and emergency response.
Position Summary:
This role involves overseeing teams that are directly or indirectly engaged in the operations and maintenance of a staffed gas Transmission Compressor Facility. Responsibilities include managing unplanned and emergent work, as well as all mandated program tasks. The supervisor will oversee personnel conducting maintenance, short-cycle construction, and compliance with mandated programs. This position requires managing shift employees working a 12-hour rotating schedule and understanding the IBEW title 200 contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate emergency response protocols as mandated by DOT regulations.
- Communicate organizational goals and objectives effectively to the team, ensuring accountability.
- Maintain comprehensive work documentation and reporting.
- Enhance the business acumen and technical expertise of field employees, promoting teamwork across functions.
- Ensure accuracy in all associated paperwork and work packages.
- Meet all mandated compliance deadlines and regulations.
- Address customer needs and expectations with professionalism and proactive communication.
- Guarantee safe execution of work, focusing on personal and public safety metrics.
- Ensure project execution aligns with scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
- Conduct weekly team meetings and provide additional training as necessary.
- Implement and enforce safety best practices, ensuring compliance with the Injury & Illness Prevention Program.
- Identify opportunities for productivity enhancements and cost reduction while adhering to corporate and regulatory standards.
- Lead investigations into any incidents or reportable events.
- Manage a team of gas craft employees, ensuring adherence to corporate and regulatory standards.
- Oversee emergency response operations, ensuring timely and quality service delivery.
- Monitor compliance with operational standards to achieve high-quality outcomes.
- Review maintenance documents for accuracy and completeness.
Position Details:
This role is based at a designated facility and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing as per DOT regulations.
Compensation:
PG&E is committed to providing a competitive salary range based on various factors, including skills, education, experience, and market value. The estimated salary range for this position is:
California Minimum: $123,000
California Maximum: $197,000
This position is also eligible for PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid CA Driver's License.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in utility, maintenance, construction, operations, logistics, or service planning.
Desired:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with the IBEW contract.
- Experience in operating complex gas facilities.
- Experience working rotating shifts.
- Background in customer service.
