Position Summary:

The Superintendent plays a crucial role in overseeing and directing all facets of assigned construction projects from the initial setup to final inspections and site clearance. This position serves as the primary liaison between Haggerty, clients, and subcontractors/vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance and Oversight:

  • Guaranteeing that all construction activities meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Facilitating project mobilization, including necessary signage and branding.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers to address any discrepancies in plans or specifications.
  • Ensuring thorough understanding of project plans to confirm scope coverage.
  • Coordinating the demobilization of equipment and ensuring the job site is left orderly.
  • Generating and completing the project punch list in a timely manner.

Safety Management:

  • Submitting Incident Reports promptly to the Safety Manager and HR within 24 hours of any incidents.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with safety policies and ensuring compliance by all personnel on site.
  • Conducting weekly safety meetings and maintaining records of attendance.
  • Managing the upkeep of Emergency Medical Kits and vehicle first aid supplies.
  • Performing monthly inspections of company vehicles and submitting reports as required.
  • Completing OSHA 10 training and maintaining certification.
  • Holding regular meetings with subcontractor foremen to discuss project specifics.

Reporting Duties:

  • Providing accurate Daily Reports, including photographic documentation, for each project by the end of the week.
  • Documenting and communicating any change orders to the Project Manager.
  • Submitting Requests for Information (RFIs) efficiently.
  • Keeping detailed records of all project changes and updates.
  • Tracking and securing company tools consistently.
  • Maintaining daily communication with the Project Manager for updates.
  • Ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of Haggerty vehicles.

Project Scheduling:

  • Utilizing a 5 Week Look Ahead Schedule to keep all parties informed of project timelines.
  • Coordinating inspections with relevant authorities and agencies.
  • Submitting manpower requests to the Production Manager in advance.

Team Support:

  • Assisting in the development of construction schedules.
  • Coordinating trades and material deliveries with on-site contacts.
  • Participating in project kickoff and closeout meetings.
  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of the project.
  • Ensuring a clean work environment.
  • Documenting project progress through daily photographs.
  • Communicating effectively with clients as needed.

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Conducting regular safety training sessions for subcontractors.
  • Managing safety compliance and documentation.
  • Following Emergency Action Plan procedures.

Authority:

  • Empowered to remove non-compliant trades from the job site.
  • Authorized to schedule all necessary inspections.
  • Capable of making in-field adjustments to maintain project timelines.
  • Responsible for documenting change orders as directed.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports directly to the General Superintendent.

General Requirements:
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Procore Construction software.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
Experience and Education:
  • 5 to 10 years of supervisory experience in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of various trades and prior experience as a foreman or journeyman.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • OSHA 10-hour training certification.
  • OSHA 30-hour training certification preferred.
