Role Objective:
The primary responsibility of this position is to lead a team of technicians in executing production and developmental tasks related to biasing, tuning, testing, and troubleshooting RF Passive and Active electronic hardware, with a particular emphasis on thin film technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, adjust, and calibrate standard testing apparatus or device test equipment to perform functional, operational, and environmental assessments, ensuring the performance and reliability of hardware for Space Flight in accordance with established testing protocols.
- Utilize a microscope for biasing, aligning, tuning, and setting temperature compensations within specified requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive testing across multiple workstations, adjusting test setups to enhance RF performance by employing specialized or standard testing equipment, ensuring compliance with engineering, quality, and related documentation.
- Document test results and provide recommendations for rework or repair as necessary.
- Employ various types of testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, Digital Volt Meters, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, and Network Analyzers. Operate basic laboratory equipment such as thermal chambers and ovens to perform environmental tests related to temperature.
- Analyze and interpret electrical/RF test data, diagnosing malfunctions and offering feedback on test results to Test/Responsible Engineers.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess the ability to read, comprehend, and adhere to Quality policies and ISO directives. The role requires physical capability to move test racks and equipment to facilitate testing setups in various areas.
Experience in an ISO9001 / SAE AS9100 environment is essential, along with flexibility to work any shift and the potential for overtime. Candidates should be able to receive general assignments and work with periodic supervision, while also identifying process improvements to address hardware, procedural, and other process-related challenges.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in thin film RF/Electrical tuning, testing, and troubleshooting is required, along with an Associate's or Technical Degree in Electrical Technology.
Preferred Skills:
A strong background in thin film electronics RF tuning and testing, with a focus on adherence to procedures and meticulous attention to detail, is highly desirable. Experience within the defense or aerospace sectors is advantageous, as is a minimum of 4 years as a Test Technician in a manufacturing environment or military setting. Familiarity with Windows PC operating systems is also preferred.
This position is within an ITAR facility, and applicants must be U.S. Citizens or lawful permanent residents.
