We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Assistant Director of Tutorial Services at Howard Community College. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong understanding of academic support services and a passion for helping students succeed.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate all tutorial services offered in the Learning Assistance Center, ensuring high-quality support for students.
- Supervise and train a team of tutors, providing guidance and feedback to ensure excellent service delivery.
- Develop and implement programs to enhance student learning and success, working closely with faculty and staff.
- Manage the TracCloud software system, maintaining accurate records and data on student tutoring usage.
- Collaborate with Disability Support Services to ensure accommodations are in place for students with disabilities.
- Work with the IT department to troubleshoot system issues and maintain instructional laptops.
- Track and analyze student tutoring usage and retention data, identifying areas for improvement.
- Promptly address tutor, student, and professor concerns and complaints, providing excellent customer service.
- 3+ years of experience in program management, preferably in a community college setting.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Regular attendance is required, with the ability to work some in-person evening and weekend hours.
- Fast-paced, high-student-traffic environment.
- Must be able to positively, respectfully, and patiently work with people with disabilities and non-native English speakers.
