Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Supervision
- Provide backup to the production supervisor and oversee the daily operations of the assembly line.
- Support the production process by filling in positions on the line when necessary to maintain the flow of work when absences occur.
- Process Improvement
- Be a change agent and drive out waste throughout the department through the deployment of the Lean methodology.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, safety, and cost reduction.
- Quality and Safety
- Enforce company and department policy and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Monitor assembly processes and conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve any issues or defects.
- Team Management
- Provide guidance, feedback, and support to production staff on their performance, quality standards, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Coordinate with the Production Supervisor to assign tasks and shifts to production staff according to the production schedule and priorities.
- Equipment and Maintenance
- Ensure that all production equipment and tools are properly set up, calibrated, maintained, and cleaned before, during, and after each shift.
- Report any malfunctioning or damaged equipment, materials, or products to the Production Supervisor and assist with troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
- Reporting and Analysis
- Maintain accurate and timely records of production data, such as output, waste, defects, inventory, labor hours, and downtime.
- Review production reports and analyze data to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
- Education and Experience
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 3-5 years production work experience preferred.
- Previous lead experience preferred.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Computer experience with Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, JD Edwards, and the Internet.
- No corrective actions or performance improvement plans within six months of the job posting opening date.
- No decision-making leaves within 12 months of the job posting opening date.
- Most recent performance rating of Achieves or greater.
- Successfully completed six months in current job bid classification or current career advancement classification.
