Job Summary

The Medical Technologist plays a vital role in the laboratory team at Washington Hospital, assisting professional staff in conducting, evaluating, and documenting routine and specialized tests of blood and other specimens in various areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet and maintain established medical and laboratory protocols.
  • Perform established Washington Hospital Core Medical Technologist Skills & Responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
  • At least two years' experience in a role equivalent to that of a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in a clinical laboratory, with a preference for biology/microbiology.
  • Associates Degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory, or equivalent education and training.
  • ASCP or other appropriate licensing agency preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Department: Laboratory
  • Shifts: Nights, 10p - 6a, with scheduled every other weekend and rotating holidays.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
