Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Authorization Specialist at The Physical Therapy Institute, a multi-clinic outpatient physical therapy organization.

  • Review clinic schedules daily to identify patients requiring authorization.
  • Update an Authorization spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel with patient information, including name, EMR number, insurance, and appointment dates.

  • Schedule peer-to-peer meetings with payors and providers.
  • Perform authorizations and billing tasks as needed.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and maintain up-to-date records.

Requirements:

  • Authorization and/or billing experience required.
  • Experience with medical insurance or physical therapy is essential.
  • Familiarity with technology and Microsoft Excel is crucial for success in this role.
  • Strong attention to detail, mathematical skills, and data processing proficiency are necessary.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, including written, verbal, and interactive communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business school graduate or equivalent.
  • Basic computer courses or equivalent preparation.
