About the Role:

The Adams and Associates, Inc. team is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk with a primary focus on payable and payroll activities to work at our organization. As a key member of the Finance Department, you will perform clerical and administrative support functions to include accounts payable, receivables, cash transactions, routine calculations, postings, and accounting data verification and reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify completeness of invoice packages and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Enter accounts payable invoices and payment requests into the accounting system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Assist with cash transactions for students and staff meals, ensuring timely and secure processing.
  • Generate timely payments to vendors, maintaining strong relationships and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Reconcile payroll and accounts payable bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain accounting records and reports, including accounts payable, receivables, inventory control, and other financial data.
  • Perform general office duties such as filing, account research, routine calculations, postings, and verification of accounting data.

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with advanced degrees preferred. Coursework in accounting/bookkeeping and one year of accounting experience are also preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications is necessary for this role.
