The Heavy Haul Truck Drivers are responsible for operating tractor-trailer combinations or trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of at least 100,000 pounds. This role may also involve unloading cargo as necessary and requires a valid commercial driver's license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely secure heavy construction machinery for transport using appropriate equipment such as ropes, chains, and binders.
  • Efficiently transport heavy construction equipment to and from various job sites.
  • Conduct thorough checks on vehicles to ensure all mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is functioning properly.
  • Skillfully maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, following signals from the loading crew.
  • Gather and verify delivery instructions and routes from relevant sources.
  • Maintain accurate logs of working hours and vehicle service or repair status in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or traffic violations promptly.
  • Ensure cargo is securely fastened for transport.
  • Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading to document weights and adhere to regulations.
  • Transport and deliver various materials, including products and livestock, using trucks with capacities exceeding 3 tons.
  • Obtain necessary receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payments when required.
  • Inspect and inventory goods prior to transport to assess quantities and conditions.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
