Position: Infection Control Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

We are seeking a dedicated Infection Control LVN to deliver nursing care within the defined scope of practice, ensuring that patient needs are met in alignment with established standards, physician directives, and regulatory guidelines.

Key Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of clinical experience in long-term care is preferred.
  • Infection Control Certification is mandatory or the ability to secure it within 30 days of employment.
  • Training in infection prevention and control as per federal regulations is essential.
  • Responsible for maintaining comprehensive records for staff and residents, including vaccination documentation and monthly surveillance reports.
  • Lead initiatives to promote safe infection prevention practices among staff, residents, and visitors.
  • Ensure compliance with annual fit testing for N95 respirators.
  • Participate in essential meetings, in-services, and admission reviews to ensure adherence to infection control policies.
  • Oversee compliance with the Facility's Antibiotic Stewardship Program and Infection Control Policies.
  • Collaborate with Nursing, SSD, and Admissions Staff to guarantee that room assignments meet infection control standards.
  • Proactively seek and incorporate new methodologies into training practices.
  • Utilize epidemiological principles for conducting surveillance and investigations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to engage effectively with regulators, facility staff, residents, and the public.
  • Experience with point click care charting is required.
  • Must hold a current LVN/LPN license in the practicing state.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain one.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to established procedures for documentation and incident reporting.
  • Follow company protocols for narcotic management, pharmacy orders, and restraint reduction.
  • Document any changes in patient conditions, including nutritional issues, infections, skin conditions, and weight fluctuations.
  • Utilize the Quality Life Manual for the identification and monitoring of patients in relevant programs.
  • Notify appropriate departments regarding any changes in patient status, including room changes, leaves of absence, new admissions, or discharges.
  • Accompany physicians on rounds as necessary.
