Position: Infection Control Licensed Vocational Nurse
We are seeking a dedicated Infection Control LVN to provide essential nursing care within the defined scope of practice, ensuring that patient needs are met in alignment with established standards, physician directives, and regulatory guidelines.
Key Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of clinical experience in long-term care is preferred.
- Infection Control Certification is required or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of employment.
- Training in infection prevention and control as per federal requirements is necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate records of vaccinations and surveillance reports for both staff and residents.
- Leadership in promoting safe infection prevention practices among staff, residents, and visitors.
- Participation in meetings, in-services, and compliance reviews to uphold infection control policies.
- Oversight of the Facility's Antibiotic Stewardship Program and adherence to Infection Control Policies.
- Collaboration with nursing and admissions staff to ensure compliance with infection standards during room assignments.
- Willingness to explore and integrate new methods into training and practices.
- Utilization of epidemiological principles for conducting surveillance and investigations.
- Ability to engage professionally with regulators, staff, residents, and the public.
- Experience with point click care charting.
- Current LVN/LPN license in the practicing state.
- Current BLS/CPR certification or a commitment to obtain one.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to established procedures for documentation and incident reporting.
- Follow company protocols for narcotic management and pharmacy orders.
- Document any changes in patient conditions, including nutritional issues, infections, and other notable changes.
- Utilize the Quality Life Manual for the identification and monitoring of patients.
- Notify relevant departments of any patient room changes, admissions, or discharges.
- Accompany physicians during rounds as necessary.
