Job Description

Integrated Resources, Inc. (IRI) is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our Operations Project Management/Technical Documentation team in Eugene, OR.

Job Summary:

The Technical Writer will support the manufacturing operation by creating accurate and concise work instructions for technical/scientific manufacturing operations. This role will involve reviewing and interpreting historical production records and manufacturing documents to collect data and information about existing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write work instructions for technical/scientific manufacturing operations in the Finished Goods Manufacturing Department.
  • Review and interpret historical production records and manufacturing documents to collect data and information about existing processes.
  • Work directly with manufacturing department staff to determine required document format and the methods, procedures, and best practices to include in the instructions.
  • Manage document creation and revision in an electronic document control system.
  • Utilize internal software systems to manage creation and revision of raw material, sub-assembly and finished good SKUs.
  • Accurately follow SKU data standards and supply chain requirements that impact SKU set-up.
  • Coordinate with team members to share workload, track and report project status, and review work done by others to ensure accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field, such as Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • 2 years laboratory or manufacturing experience in a scientific/technical field.
  • Combination of academic background and work experience that demonstrates the following skills and the ability to quickly learn new skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to interpret and summarize scientific/technical results in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
  • Solid technical writing skills with an ability to document synthetic, conjugation, or formulation procedures accurately and succinctly.
  • Ability to write in English with proper word usage, grammar, and spelling.
  • Experience using Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality business systems.
  • Ability to intuitively perform UOM conversion in the metric system and chemistry conversions.
  • Ability to understand standard calculations used to obtain quantitative results using data from analytical test methods.
  • Ability to use Excel conditional formatting and nested logic functions to perform variable information processing and formatting.
  • Effective communication skills in a diverse work environment.
  • Eager learner with willingness to follow work standards and contribute ideas for improvement.
