Position Title: Senior Engineering Specialist

Role Overview:

This position represents the pinnacle of the Engineer series, encompassing senior to technical expert engineers capable of executing challenging and intricate tasks that necessitate a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and substantial experience in their functional area. Responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling and coordinating significant segments of complex projects to achieve budgetary and timeline goals.
  • Planning and executing work that requires independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, adapting, and modifying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Developing innovative solutions to encountered challenges and establishing engineering criteria to ensure adherence to design standards.
  • Providing technical guidance and leadership to junior engineers as necessary.
  • Applying extensive knowledge of engineering principles to major projects that significantly influence various programs and related fields.
  • Acting as a technical authority on engineering-related legal and regulatory matters for external stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5-6 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering theories and principles.
  • Proficiency in advanced techniques and the ability to modify and extend theories and practices within the field.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a proven track record as a project lead.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including technical documentation.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in engineering software applications.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Expertise in interpreting codes, regulations, and industry practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Proficient in project management, planning, and organizational skills.

Educational Background:

Required: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or an equivalent qualification recognized under relevant accreditation standards.
