Position Overview:

The Housing Placement Specialist at UBH plays a crucial role in partnering with landlords, property managers, and housing providers to discover appropriate housing options for families experiencing homelessness. Key responsibilities include fostering relationships with landlords, informing them about UBH programs, rental assistance opportunities, and tenant/landlord rights. The Specialist also aids in resolving housing-related challenges and supports families in achieving stable housing.

Responsibilities:
  • Engage landlords for UBH housing initiatives
  • Identify and secure diverse housing opportunities
  • Conduct property assessments to ensure habitability
  • Maintain an updated database of available housing units
  • Address barriers to client eligibility
  • Network with housing providers and collaborate with partner organizations
  • Provide training on housing application procedures
  • Assist in locating and securing permanent housing solutions
  • Act as a liaison between clients and landlords

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and relevant experience in human services
  • Strong sales and advocacy skills
  • Familiarity with fair housing laws and practices
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Basic computer proficiency
