Position Responsibilities:
The Housing Placement Coordinator will undertake a variety of tasks aimed at securing and sustaining permanent housing for our clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing financial objectives related to rental subsidies.
  • Creating and maintaining a budget for rental payments.
  • Developing a tracking system for rental payments in accordance with project guidelines.
  • Gathering and assessing housing-related information from participants.
  • Collaborating with case managers to address issues of nonpayment.
  • Documenting case notes in the Coordinated Entry System (CES).
  • Updating participant files with relevant information.
  • Facilitating rental applications and necessary documentation.
  • Delivering rental payments to landlords.
  • Advocating for participants with landlords regarding housing opportunities.
  • Assisting in the procurement of essential household items.
  • Participating in training and community meetings as required.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • High School diploma with a minimum of 3 years in administrative roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and maintain organization.
  • Self-motivated with a collaborative spirit.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, particularly those who have been incarcerated.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly desirable.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or social sciences with relevant experience.
  • Understanding of the complexities of individual backgrounds and housing needs.
  • Knowledge of local housing resources and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders.
  • Commitment to upholding the dignity and confidentiality of participants.
