Position Responsibilities:
The Housing Placement Coordinator will undertake a variety of tasks aimed at securing and sustaining permanent housing for our clients. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing financial objectives related to rental subsidies.
- Creating and maintaining a budget for rental payments.
- Developing a tracking system for rental payments in accordance with project guidelines.
- Gathering and assessing housing-related information from participants.
- Collaborating with case managers to address issues of nonpayment.
- Documenting case notes in the Coordinated Entry System (CES).
- Updating participant files with relevant information.
- Facilitating rental applications and necessary documentation.
- Delivering rental payments to landlords.
- Advocating for participants with landlords regarding housing opportunities.
- Assisting in the procurement of essential household items.
- Participating in training and community meetings as required.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma with a minimum of 3 years in administrative roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong communication skills.
- Ability to follow established procedures and maintain organization.
- Self-motivated with a collaborative spirit.
- Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, particularly those who have been incarcerated.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly desirable.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or social sciences with relevant experience.
- Understanding of the complexities of individual backgrounds and housing needs.
- Knowledge of local housing resources and processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders.
- Commitment to upholding the dignity and confidentiality of participants.
