Position Summary:
The Housing Placement Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at securing and maintaining stable housing for our clients. This includes managing rental payment processes and ensuring timely assistance to property owners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve financial goals related to rental subsidies.
- Develop and manage a budget for rental payments.
- Create a tracking system for rental payments in accordance with project guidelines.
- Evaluate housing options and gather necessary information from participants.
- Collaborate with case managers to address issues related to rent payments.
- Document rental payment cases in the Coordinated Entry System (CES).
- Maintain accurate participant records.
- Assist with application processes and necessary documentation.
- Deliver rental payments to landlords and property owners.
- Advocate for participants in securing rental units.
- Support clients in acquiring essential furnishings.
- Participate in training and community meetings as required.
- May take on additional community advocacy roles as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma with at least 3 years of experience in office administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with strong communication skills.
- Ability to follow established procedures and guidelines.
- Self-motivated and highly organized team player.
- Understanding of the housing needs of previously incarcerated individuals is preferred.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are highly desirable.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or social sciences with relevant experience.
- Awareness of the impact of cultural and social factors on behavior.
- Knowledge of local housing markets and community resources.
- Ability to work collaboratively with landlords and community service providers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse populations.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and participant welfare.
