GENERAL OVERVIEW

Under the guidance of the Regional Program Manager, this role entails advanced project management responsibilities, specifically for Capital Construction initiatives. The incumbent will oversee and validate construction timelines, financial plans, payment requests, contractual documents, vendor adherence, safety protocols, and ensure compliance with departmental objectives, policies, and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate efforts and maintain communication with various branches within the organization to track project scope, budget, schedule, and contractor agreements.
  • Exercise independent judgment and innovative thinking while working under general supervision.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as required and adhere to all agency and departmental regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:

Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Architecture, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline.

Experience: A minimum of five years of documented experience in managing construction projects related to real estate, land development, building renovations, or infrastructure projects.

Proficiency in administrative functions, budgeting, scheduling, cost estimation, quality management, team leadership, and organizational development is essential.

Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives within defined constraints.

Licensure: A valid state driver's license is required.

Acceptable Substitutions:

One additional year of relevant experience may replace thirty semester hours of the required education, with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours. A Master's degree may substitute for two years of required experience, while a Doctorate may substitute for four years.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with project management software and scheduling tools, such as Microsoft Project, is highly desirable. Public speaking and presentation skills are also preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong understanding of sustainable building practices, construction management techniques, applicable codes and standards, and risk management principles.

Proficient in using MS Office Suite and project management tools, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and make informed decisions that impact project costs and timelines.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position requires standard working hours with potential overtime, outdoor work in varying weather conditions, and travel requirements.
