The Creative Team Leader for field and product marketing will spearhead a group of creative professionals, guiding the development of tailored brand content for various regions, including financial advisors and localized engagement teams. This position is crucial in maintaining a consistent brand message while adapting to the unique characteristics of different markets. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of cultural differences and the capability to manage a team that produces compelling and relevant content for diverse marketing initiatives. This role balances strategic thinking with creative concepts, copywriting, and design. The Creative Team Leader collaborates on the advancement of Thrivent's brand and is responsible for the comprehensive understanding and execution of Thrivent's localized branding strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the creation and localization of creative materials to ensure they resonate with regional audiences while upholding brand integrity.
  • Generate innovative ideas while fostering the best creative thinking from team members. Lead the team in delivering effective presentations of creative concepts to stakeholders. Conduct research to prepare for pitches, including audience insights.
  • Engage with business partners to build relationships and develop creative strategies that align with business objectives through collaboration and influence.
  • Work closely with the Brand Team on brand evolution and ensure consistent application of brand messaging, tone, style, and visual design across all channels.
  • Encourage the creative team to explore their creativity, develop their skills, and excel in their respective areas. Recognize and value the contributions of team members to achieve optimal outcomes for the brand.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to internal and external teams and business partners, offering specific guidance on the direction of creative work.
  • Contribute to writing briefs and ensure that creative teams have the necessary resources to produce high-quality work. Utilize briefs to assess creative outputs.
  • Offer writing and design services as required.
  • Assist in cultivating high-performing creative teams and a positive culture; select, mentor, and reward team members for their expertise in creative and effective practices that enhance and protect our brand. Teams may include both internal and external resources.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in corporate communications, journalism, marketing, or creative departments/agencies.
  • Proven experience in leading creative teams.
  • Experience in creative development and direction across various disciplines and channels.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the creative development process and principles of writing and visual design.
  • Experience working within a corporation that has an internal creative team.
Preferred:
  • Experience with photoshoots, film productions, and directing various media types such as direct mail, print, web, and outdoor.
  • Familiarity with current trends across creative disciplines.
  • Empathetic understanding of the target audience, their needs, and external factors influencing their decisions.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for projects.

Compensation: Thrivent's long-term success relies on attracting, rewarding, and retaining individuals committed to helping others thrive with purpose. We offer a competitive compensation package that reflects various geographic regions. The salary range for this full-time role is $104,000 to $141,398 annually, influenced by factors such as location, relevant experience, skills, and market demand.
