Department OverviewThe Georgia Tech Athletic Association oversees varsity athletics in 17 NCAA Division I sports, competing at the highest levels and striving for excellence in all endeavors.
Position SummaryThis role is pivotal in managing the Athletic Association's Control Room and video infrastructure across various venues. The Senior Broadcast Engineer will oversee engineering for live broadcasts and video productions, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities1. Facility Management:
Oversee the maintenance and operation of the Athletic Association's broadcast facilities and remote locations, ensuring optimal performance of all video equipment.
2. Broadcast Engineering:
Direct engineering efforts for live broadcasts and video board productions, ensuring high-quality output.
3. Equipment Oversight:
Manage and maintain broadcasting equipment, software, and network applications across production facilities.
4. Preventative Maintenance:
Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of audio/visual equipment in various athletic venues.
5. Subject Matter Expertise:
Provide expertise on workflows related to video editing systems and media storage.
6. Liaison Role:
Act as a key contact for external broadcast partners, ensuring smooth collaboration.
7. Compliance Assurance:
Ensure adherence to NCAA, ACC, and institutional regulations.
8. Additional Duties:
Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Experience Required:
5-7 years of relevant professional experience.
Abilities:
Regularly required to stand, walk, and utilize hands for various tasks.
Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of video production equipment, including switchers, LED displays, and broadcast systems. Strong communication and technical skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively and solve complex problems.
