Department Overview

The Georgia Tech Athletic Association (GTAA) oversees varsity athletics in 17 NCAA Division I sports. Our programs, steeped in tradition and success, compete at the highest levels and strive for excellence.

Position Summary

This role is pivotal in managing the Athletic Association's Control Room and all associated video equipment and infrastructure. The Senior Broadcast Engineer will oversee engineering operations for various broadcasts, collaborating with athletic staff and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

1. Facility Management:
Oversee the maintenance and operation of the Athletic Association's broadcast facilities and remote locations, ensuring all video equipment is functioning optimally.

2. Broadcast Engineering:
Direct engineering efforts for live broadcasts and video productions, ensuring high-quality output.

3. Equipment Oversight:
Maintain and manage core broadcasting equipment, software, and network applications across production facilities.

4. Preventative Maintenance:
Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of audio/visual equipment across various venues.

5. Workflow Expertise:
Act as a subject matter expert on editing systems and media management.

6. Liaison Role:
Serve as the primary contact for external broadcast partners.

7. Compliance Assurance:
Ensure adherence to NCAA, ACC, and institutional regulations.

8. Additional Duties:
Perform other related responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Experience:
5-7 years of relevant professional experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Abilities:
Ability to stand, walk, and use hands regularly while performing job duties.

Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of video production equipment, including switchers, LED displays, and broadcast systems. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively are essential.
