Position Overview

The Senior Broadcast Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and management of the Athletic Association's broadcast facilities and equipment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the seamless execution of live broadcasts and video productions for the Georgia Tech Athletics Association.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Management:
Lead the upkeep and operational efficiency of the Athletic Association's broadcast facilities and remote locations, ensuring all video equipment and broadcast infrastructure are functioning optimally.

Broadcast Direction:
Direct the technical aspects of live broadcasts produced by the Georgia Tech Athletics Association, including those for the Atlantic Coast Conference Network and video board presentations.

Equipment Oversight:
Manage and maintain essential broadcasting equipment, software, and local area network applications throughout the production facilities and venues.

Preventative Maintenance:
Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of audio/visual equipment situated in athletic offices and venues.

Expert Consultation:
Act as a subject matter expert on workflows associated with computer editing systems, including the archiving and storage of video production assets.

External Collaboration:
Serve as a primary contact for external broadcast partners, ensuring smooth operations at Georgia Tech Athletics venues.

Compliance Assurance:
Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations set forth by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), and institutional policies.

Qualifications

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Experience:
A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in broadcast engineering is essential.

Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of video broadcast production equipment, including expertise in video switchers, LED displays, and broadcast cameras. Strong communication and technical skills are necessary, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external partners. Advanced problem-solving skills and strategic thinking are also crucial for success in this role.
