Position Overview

We are looking for a talented Optical Imaging Systems Engineer to become a vital part of our team at Light Innovation Technology USA. In this role, you will be instrumental in the development and deployment of advanced optical imaging systems for leading scientific organizations across the nation.

The Optical Imaging Systems Engineer will take charge of constructing and maintaining these sophisticated imaging systems, collaborating closely with researchers to guarantee peak performance and seamless integration of our innovative technology. This position involves direct interaction with clients, necessitating expertise in imaging and a solid understanding of optical system assembly. You will engage with esteemed researchers in diverse fields such as bioengineering, oncology, developmental biology, regenerative medicine, and neurobiology, operating cutting-edge imaging systems that produce extensive 3D biological images and data that contribute to significant scientific advancements.

Key Responsibilities

- Construct, maintain, and demonstrate optical imaging systems for commercial purposes.
- Install and fine-tune systems at client locations.
- Offer technical assistance and training to researchers.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to enhance existing systems and create innovative solutions.
- Travel to leading scientific institutions to partner with researchers, with potential for 50% out-of-state travel.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in optical engineering, optomechanical engineering, or related fields, or biological sciences (master's degrees are preferred).
- Proven experience in optical imaging systems and/or design.
- Familiarity with photonics and optical light path assembly.
- Proficient in working with lasers and optoelectronics for biological imaging.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn new techniques and methodologies.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
