About This Role

Chapters Health System is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Development Liaison to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in cultivating and maintaining professional business development relationships with key accounts and referral sources to improve patient access to care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a systematic plan of business development and education within an assigned territory to stimulate timely referrals, heightened broader awareness, and increase the number of patients served by Chapters Health System.
  • Collaborate with other Chapters Health System divisions to execute the territory business plan and establish or maintain relationships with all members of the senior healthcare continuum and all other 3rd party payors.
  • Identify and facilitate opportunities to develop new hospital and long-term care facility contracts.
  • Work collaboratively with all Chapters Health System divisions to orient and educate all referral sources on how to best determine why, when, and how to utilize Chapters Health System services.
  • Utilize the current customer relationship management (CRM) software or documentation process to maintain account profiles and produce regular reports regarding market activity and results.
  • Support and participate in Chapters Health System online and social media activities as determined necessary by leadership and the Marketing and Communications Department.
  • As a back-up to the front-line Start of Care Team, demonstrate competence to conduct consent signing and meet all-staff documentation requirements.
  • Support and assist in the facilitation of cause-related community events to foster positive community relationships and generate ownership and understanding of our nonprofit mission.
  • Identify and engage with Healthcare Community Advisory Councils within their territory to establish Chapters Health System as an industry thought leader.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of professional business development experience in an allied healthcare organization, with a strong preference for experience in a hospital, long-term care, assisted living, in-home care, or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Interest, knowledge, and a passion for the hospice and palliative care field is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is strongly preferred, but not required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, in English.
  • Ability to organize and manage duties of the position within a defined timeframe and budget.
  • Strong work ethic, presentation skills, and ability to communicate effectively with various levels of management, peers, vendors, and the public.
  • Ability to see, hear, grasp, lift, speak, sit, and walk or otherwise perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Mental and emotional ability, and maturity to work with death and the dying.
  • Customer service skills and flexibility to work with individuals under stress, in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.
