Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP of Real Estate to join our team at Shaw University. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all facets of real estate and facilities projects, including planning, design, construction, and closeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic, financial, and project management plans for the acquisition, disposal, and joint venturing of property, campus plan projects, and deferred maintenance programs.
  • Review and negotiate real estate agreements, documents, and contracts to ensure compliance with university strategic plans and pertinent laws.
  • Manage the University's real estate portfolio, including identifying project delivery resources, conducting bid analysis, and leading evaluation interviews.
  • Implement change management routines to assess change requests, make recommendations, and secure approvals.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer and other stakeholders to evaluate, accept, manage, and dispose of real property assets.
  • Evaluate, pursue, and grow strategic partnerships and new business development opportunities that advance Shaw's operational, academic, and thought-leadership goals.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Business or Real Estate with a major or sub-major in architecture and/or engineering.
  • 6-10 years' experience in related real estate and facilities functions, including transaction management, asset management, and strategic planning.
  • Proven vision, leadership, and critical thinking skills to prioritize evolving initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in diverse environments and with diverse populations of employees.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional certification.
  • Working knowledge of Jenzabar Financials.
  • Advanced knowledge of the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
