The Clinical Services Coordinator is a licensed professional responsible for providing specialized knowledge in mental health and human development services. This role acts as the clinical lead and supervisor within the clinical department, catering to students involved in various educational and campus life programs. The coordinator will assess treatment progress, perform evaluations, offer consultation and counseling, and create tailored treatment plans and interventions that address the unique needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide mental health and human development initiatives in a collaborative manner, ensuring that students' individual needs are met through a holistic approach involving the clinical team, educational staff, families, and external partners.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and re-evaluations of students' social and emotional requirements, developing personalized ITEP goals and treatment strategies based on these assessments.
  • Employ a variety of student-centered, strength-based, and creative therapeutic modalities to effectively address the specific needs of each student.
  • Provide and oversee counseling services for individuals and groups, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Design and implement new systems, groups, and alternative programming tailored for student support.
  • Manage the scheduling of clinical staff and ensure that clinical documentation and session notes are accurately prepared and submitted as required.
  • Collaborate with fellow clinicians and educational staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to each student's progress, considering their developmental, emotional, and social needs.
  • Support students in community and workplace settings to foster success in social integration, future employment, and other life achievements.
  • Maintain proactive communication with students, families, and caregivers to effectively monitor student development and address any challenges.
  • Supervise the maintenance of essential records, evaluations, and reports as mandated.
  • Engage in clinical and organizational activities to enhance professional knowledge and remain updated on advancements in the field.
  • Assist with various programs, events, and services offered by the organization, taking on a diverse range of responsibilities.
  • Stay informed on clinical matters to uphold best practices in evaluation and intervention.
  • Participate in community and professional education initiatives related to clinical issues and life skills independence.
  • As a vital member of the mental health leadership team, be prepared for on-call responsibilities, including occasional weekend and overnight coverage.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid New York State License in good standing.
  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, BCBA, or a related mental health field is required; a Doctorate in any of these fields or in Psychology is also acceptable.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with students with developmental disabilities or on the autism spectrum is highly preferred; experience in an educational setting is advantageous.

  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity to problem-solve and make informed decisions based on complex data.

  • Proficient in engaging with a variety of individuals in a manner that respects diversity and positively represents the organization.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing circumstances.
  • Capability to lead, develop, and mentor team members.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage multiple tasks with discretion.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach across different disciplines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software, with the ability to learn new database management systems.

Supervisory and Budget Responsibilities:

This position includes supervisory responsibilities as enrollment and staff increase. Budget management responsibilities are also part of this role.

Work Environment:

Engagement in various areas of the campus, both indoors and outdoors, is required.

Physical Demands:

The role involves managing multiple demands and deadlines, requiring sustained concentration. The position may involve walking between floors or buildings and navigating a hilly campus.

Position Type:

This is a full-time, 12-month position, typically requiring a 40-hour work week, with the possibility of additional hours as needed.

Additional Requirements:

A valid driver's license is preferred.
