The Licensed Clinical Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing mental health and developmental services, acting as the clinical authority and manager of the department dedicated to supporting students across various educational and campus life programs. This position involves assessing treatment progress, conducting evaluations, providing guidance and counseling, and formulating tailored treatment strategies that cater to the unique needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate a collaborative approach in mental health and human development to ensure that students receive comprehensive support from the clinical team, educational staff, families, and external partners.
- Perform thorough assessments of students' emotional and social requirements, subsequently creating individualized treatment plans and ITEP goals.
- Employ diverse, student-focused therapeutic techniques that are empathetic and innovative to meet the specific needs of each student.
- Oversee and provide counseling services to individuals and groups, utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Design and implement new programs and systems aimed at enhancing student support and engagement.
- Manage the scheduling of clinical personnel and ensure that all necessary documentation and session notes are accurately maintained and submitted.
- Collaborate with fellow clinicians and educational staff to ensure a holistic approach to each student's development, considering their unique emotional and social requirements.
- Support students in community and workplace settings to facilitate their integration and future employment opportunities.
- Maintain proactive communication with students and their families to effectively monitor progress and address any challenges.
- Supervise the upkeep of essential records, evaluations, and reports as mandated.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in clinical activities to enhance field knowledge.
- Contribute to various programs and events at the institution, expanding the scope of responsibilities.
- Stay informed on clinical advancements to uphold best practices in evaluation and intervention.
- Participate in community education initiatives regarding clinical matters and life skills.
- As a vital member of the mental health leadership team, be prepared for on-call duties, including weekend and overnight coverage.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid New York State License in good standing.
- A Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, BCBA, or a related field is required; a Doctorate in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of supervisory experience is essential.
- Experience with students with developmental disabilities or on the autism spectrum is highly desirable; prior school experience is advantageous.

- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to actively listen and respond to student needs.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of making informed decisions based on complex data.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment, demonstrating cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse needs.

- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn new software systems.
Supervisory and Budget Responsibilities:
This position includes supervisory duties as the enrollment and staff grow. Budget management responsibilities are also part of this role.
Work Environment:
The role requires participation in various campus activities, both indoors and outdoors.
Physical Demands:
The work involves managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining focus in a dynamic environment. The position may require walking between buildings and navigating a multi-level campus.
Position Type:
This is a full-time position requiring a commitment to a traditional workweek, with potential for additional hours as necessary.
Additional Requirements:
A valid driver's license is preferred.
