The Clinical Services Supervisor is a licensed professional responsible for providing specialized knowledge in mental health and human development services. This role serves as the clinical authority and overseer of the clinical department, which supports students within various educational and campus life groups. Key responsibilities include evaluating treatment progress, conducting assessments, offering consultation and counseling, and creating tailored treatment plans and interventions that cater to the unique needs of each student.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mental health and human development initiatives through a collaborative framework, ensuring that the individualized needs of students are met by working closely with the clinical team, educational staff, and families.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of students' social and emotional requirements, developing individualized treatment goals and plans based on these evaluations.
  • Employ diverse, student-centered treatment approaches that are strength-based and empathetic to address the specific needs of each student.
  • Oversee and provide counseling services to individuals and groups, utilizing various evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Design and implement new systems and programs tailored to student needs.
  • Manage the scheduling of clinical staff and ensure that all clinical documentation is accurately prepared and submitted.
  • Collaborate with other clinicians and educational staff to ensure a holistic approach to each student's progress, considering their developmental, emotional, and social needs.
  • Support students in community and workplace settings to facilitate successful integration and future opportunities.
  • Maintain proactive communication with students and their families to effectively address progress and challenges.
  • Supervise the upkeep of necessary records and evaluations.
  • Engage in professional development activities to stay informed about advancements in the field.
  • Assist with various programs and events at the institution, taking on a broader range of responsibilities as needed.
  • Stay updated on clinical practices to ensure the highest standards of evaluation and intervention.
  • Participate in community education regarding clinical matters and life skills.
  • Be part of the mental health leadership team, with on-call responsibilities that may include weekend and overnight coverage.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid New York State License in good standing.
  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, BCBA, or a related field, or a Doctorate in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with students who have developmental disabilities or are on the autism spectrum is highly preferred.

  • Outstanding communication and active listening skills to effectively meet student needs.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment while being sensitive to the diverse needs of students and families.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn new software.

Supervisory and Budget Responsibilities:

This position includes supervisory duties as the program and staff expand. Budget management responsibilities are also part of this role.

Work Environment:

The role requires participation in various campus activities, both indoors and outdoors, and involves managing multiple demands and deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

The position may involve walking between buildings and navigating a multi-level campus.

Position Type:

This is a full-time position requiring a commitment to a traditional workweek, with the possibility of additional hours as necessary.

Additional Requirements:

A valid driver's license is preferred.
