As an Elementary Education Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of innovation and inquiry within the classroom. Your responsibilities will include designing a dynamic curriculum for students in grades 3 to 5, creating an environment conducive to learning and personal development, and establishing strong relationships with students and their families. You will motivate students to acquire the essential skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary for a solid foundation in upper elementary education, tailored to each student's unique abilities while striving to enhance student achievement.


Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a commitment to elevating student performance while integrating the core values of the institution, particularly in science and technology.
  • Gather and analyze ongoing performance data to inform instructional strategies and collaborate with colleagues to customize learning experiences for all students.
  • Utilize state educational standards to develop rigorous, objective-driven, interdisciplinary lessons that align with curriculum frameworks.
  • Clearly identify the cognitive skills to be taught and practiced in each lesson, ensuring students understand their learning objectives.
  • Adapt instruction to meet the diverse learning and behavioral needs of students, ensuring engagement and challenge for every learner.
  • Facilitate student engagement through a variety of activities and technology that cater to different learning styles and the need for physical movement.
  • Create a classroom atmosphere that embraces mistakes and change as part of the learning process.
  • Conduct formative and summative assessments to enhance instructional decision-making and promote student growth.
  • Incorporate listening and speaking skills into student presentations and projects.
  • Encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and effective communication among students.
  • Provide diverse learning opportunities through multiple modalities to support student mastery.
  • Design measurable, ambitious goals aligned with standards to increase student achievement and track progress against these objectives.
  • Evaluate student progress toward learning goals using various assessment tools.
Continued Responsibilities
  • Offer timely and constructive feedback to students regarding their progress toward achieving their goals.
  • Reflect on lesson effectiveness and student progress using data to enhance instructional practices.
  • Establish a fair and respectful classroom environment that encourages students to take risks and pursue their goals.
  • Communicate and uphold high expectations for behavior and academic performance, fostering a culture of respect and achievement.
  • Model and reinforce age-appropriate behavioral expectations and consequences, implementing individualized management plans as necessary.
  • Establish classroom procedures and routines that maximize instructional time and provide structure for students.
  • Engage in respectful and thoughtful communication with parents and guardians, being sensitive to diverse cultural values and needs.
  • Maintain timely communication with families regarding student progress and curriculum expectations.
  • Collaborate with families and community members to enhance academic activities and support a diverse student population.
  • Work with colleagues to continuously improve teaching practices, assessment methods, and overall student achievement.
  • Participate actively in professional development opportunities and staff meetings to foster personal growth.
  • Engage with families during school events and conferences to strengthen community ties.
  • Support school leadership in various initiatives, including hiring processes.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office 365 for communication and document management.
  • Implement universal supports for students in accordance with the Multi-Tiered System of Support framework.
  • Contribute to school committees or teams throughout the academic year.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by school leadership.
