Join the RiverSource team as an Operations Manager, overseeing team members responsible for the execution, service, and management of various complex processes within Operations.

In this role, you will provide guidance, development, and support to your team to ensure the timely and precise execution of daily tasks while adhering to all compliance and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor direct reports, offering direction and assistance on processes, procedures, and escalated issues.
  • Establish methods to evaluate and report on departmental performance, ensuring resources are effectively allocated and workloads are balanced to meet accuracy, processing, quality metrics, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive and implement process enhancements, proactively identifying and addressing business challenges to boost efficiency and operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee policies and procedures, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and reviewed to comply with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to effectively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in projects and initiatives that are driven by business needs within the team and across Operations.
  • Provide effective leadership through constructive coaching, feedback, and sound performance management practices. Champion the team and address any obstacles that may hinder individual or organizational success. Set departmental goals and align individual performance objectives.

Flexibility: Occasional early work hours may be required based on business needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience (post-secondary education and relevant work experience may be interchanged to meet the total years required).
  • Extensive experience in financial services, financial operations, processing, or customer service teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Operations processes, policies, techniques, and applicable regulations.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in people leadership and mentoring.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex issues in a clear and understandable manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4 years).
  • Knowledge of Annuity Estate Settlement or Death Claim processing.
